Rule changes needed for space tourism

The company Spaceport Sweden is working to launch space tourism from Kiruna. But rule changes required in both the U.S. and Sweden. The company president is going to the United States to lobby for change.

Today the craft prevented from exporting due to ITAR regulations, the International Traffic in Arms Regulation.

-What has happened now is that we have moved satellites and related components from Itar-list to the Department of Commerce, and we will continue to lobby for the spacecraft also moved from the list, said Karin Nilsdotter, president of Spaceport Sweden.
