Svenska Övertorneå Municipality
Övertorneå Municipality is part of multicultural Norrbotten, with Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian and Sami influences.
Geographically, Övertorneå is located near the Finnish border with the Arctic Circle criss-crossing the municipality. Its proximity to Finland means opportunities for high quality service and improved logistics, thanks to the nearby railways and airports.
The municipality has one of northern Sweden’s lowest municipal tax rates. Its population is about 5,000.
It is a scenic region that includes the Torne River as just one of the beautiful recreational areas in the municipality.
